I haven't been doing as many tactics as I have in the recent past and my tactical rating has gone down, but it appears my success percentage is slowly going up. I must assume as a whole that, in the long run, is what is important and shows true tactical growth. I'd be interested in my brothers conclusions on his own tactical stats and see if they follow a similar pattern. Perhaps he'll comment and enlighten us on his tactical endeavors.
I'm also interested in working on self annotating my games without the use of a computer. I think this would be good practice in learning more about the subtleties in a position. I'll need to allot some time for this. Time allocation, I dare say, has been something I'm doing very poorly at.
Here is a recent game from a tournament for your enjoyment. It ends in a nice mate due to a tactical shot.
