Another night of dropping 150 points doing tactical problems. I need to fix this and I really don't know how. I'm under 1350 and the way it is going it would not surprise me if I drop below 1300. If I take my time and solve it correctly I lose points because I don't solve it fast enough. If I try and solve it quickly, well let's just say I nose dive like I have been doing tonight. This tactical blindness of mind on certain days is just absurd. There has to be a way to fix this. I'm open to suggestions and ideas.
I don't know if I need to work from the ground up doing simple problems over and over again until it just sticks in my head permanently or if I need to resign myself to my stupidity. The funny thing is when I have enough time, i.e. correspondence games, I can usually find and work my way through some that I cannot even solve in the trainer. Again it just doesn't make any sense.
I do need to study more games and do my self game annotations that I haven't started yet. I've been having an issue finding, well making, the time. I don't know if it will help my tactical vision, but it should help with my positional understanding which is currently better than my tactical ability. It would be nice if I could get all of my ducks in a row and make some real progress in my chess play.
